I’m experiencing a limitation with the post relation functionality. I know that relations between posts authored by different users are only allowed in certain cases — such as draft, pending, etc. — meaning when the post is not yet publicly visible.

However, it seems that posts with the “future” status (scheduled for future publication) cannot be selected as related posts, not even from the backend. Is that correct?

If so, I’d like to understand whether this is an intentional limitation or possibly an oversight. In many scenarios (e.g. editorial sites with scheduled articles, e-commerce sites with upcoming products or coupons, or portfolio/showcase websites where content is bound by NDAs until a specific date), being able to manage relationships before publication is essential.

If it’s not currently supported, is there a known workaround or a snippet to enable this behavior?
