Overrides: User Membership Plan is tag

  • Posted 3 weeks ago

Hi guys,

I’m using membership plans on my website and would like users on a higher membership plan to be able to upload more images to a listing.

Your overrides feature seems like the ideal way to handle this. I’ve set it up so that when the author’s membership plan is X, it overrides the standard image limit for free users and increases it to 5 images.

However, it looks like the user isn’t recognised as the post author while they are creating the post. Because of that, they are still limited to the standard 3 images during the initial submission.

Once the post has been submitted and the user edits it afterwards, the override works correctly. But ideally, the higher image limit needs to apply during the initial submission as well.

Is there a way to make this work for new submissions?

It feels like there should be an override condition based on the current user’s membership plan, rather than the post author’s membership plan, since the author does not seem to be assigned yet during submission.

I could of course create two separate image upload fields and control their visibility based on user membership plan, but the override feature seems like a much cleaner solution.

Looking forward to your suggestions.

Thanks
