Bug Report / Usability: Issues with Mobile Field Repeater

  • Posted 2 weeks ago

Hi,

I am writing to report two issues I have encountered with the Field Repeater in mobile view.

1. Repeater Expansion Issue (Specific Devices)

On certain devices, such as the Samsung S21+ and newer models, I am unable to expand the repeater field to view its contents by tapping on it. The repeater remains closed.

Observation: The expansion works correctly on other devices (e.g., Motorola) although the sensitivity or precise tap location sometimes affects its opening.
Impact: This behaviour makes it impossible to edit the repeater’s content on these specific devices.

2. Conflict Between Page Scrolling and Repeater Reordering (General Mobile Issue)

This is primarily an usability issue affecting page navigation:

Description: When a user scrolls the page (vertically) and their finger moves across the area containing a list of repeater fields, the action is often misinterpreted as a drag-and-drop attempt for reordering the fields, rather than standard page scrolling.
Result: The repeater item is accidentally moved, and the page scrolling stops or is ignored, leading to a frustrating user experience.

Improvement:

Could the reordering functionality be enabled only after a “long press” (prolonged touch) on the repeater item?

This modification would allow regular touch (tap) for expansion and regular swipe for page scrolling, while requiring an intentional long press to initiate the reordering process.

Thanks
